**Horizons Graduation Ceremony Will Begin at 6:30pm**

May 18th: Horizons @SMS

Senior Parents and Guardians,

Horizons' students have the opportunity to walk with Horizons, their home high schools, OR BOTH!  You must purchase a cap and gown for each school you are walking with. 

All caps and gowns for home high schools will be sold through Jostens.  You can find your school by going to the Jostens' website. Scroll down to "Find My School Store".  Enter the home high school you would like to walk with.  

There are opportunities to order rings, clothing, and many other things.  you are only required to purchase a cap, gown, and tassel.  The price is $30 plus a small additional fee for taxes and delivery.  Click here to see how to order just the basic cap and gown.

*SM South–Dec 12th

*SM Northwest–Dec 12th (Horizons and SM Northwest graduations are on the same night.  You must pick EITHER Horizons OR Northwest.)  

*Horizons–If students are walking with Horizons, please have them fill out this google form. 

• The school will order their cap and gown once they have indicated they wish to walk with Horizons
• The cost of a cap and gown for Horizons is $24.00.
• You can pay for your cap and gown online at e-Funds for Schools (available after Spring Break) or contact me at 913-993-9501 to pay over the phone or in person.  Payment is required before your student can receive their cap and gown in May.

Q: Can I decorate my cap for the graduation celebration?

A:  No. Cap decorations are not allowed.

Q: Does my family need tickets to get into the ceremony?

A: No. There are no tickets needed to attend the event.  

Q:  How many people can I invite?

A:  You may invite as many as you would like.  There is no guest limit.

Q: Do I have to buy a cap and gown for each school if I am walking with my home high school AND Horizons?

A: Yes.  Because each school has different colors, you must purchase a cap and gown for each ceremony you are participating in.

Q: What if it rains or the weather is bad?

A:  If there is inclement weather, we will move to the Auxiliary Gym at Shawnee Mission South.

Q: When do students need to be at Shawnee Mission South on the 18th?

A:  Students should report at 6:00 in order to be ready for our 6:30 start time.
